Anxiety Con

Anxiety Con is an educational Video Game developed in a month between 6 students from different universities across Europe out of Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Poland and Lithuania.  The goal for the month was to come up with a game idea related to well being and we went for a game set in an Anime Convention played through the lenses of someone who suffers from severe social anxiety.

Won an award at ZTGK 2024 in Łódź, Poland presented by Spidor for how the game represented and taught about mental health struggles. 

Objectives

• Build up your confidence by interacting with various people at the convention.
• Increase your confidence and become more comfortable at the convention.
• The game is over once the player has been able to experience everything that was in their journal to do for the day.

Features

• Learn various techniques on how to deal with social anxiety in a busy setting.
• Understand what it is like for someone who has social anxiety and learn more about the illness. 
• Anixety metre that scales up based on your confidence level, that when it goes too high it triggers an anxiety attack.
• Breathing minigame to help calm the player down if they get too stressed.
